The Philippines is surrounded by different bodies of water and has approximately 7,100 islands that composed of archipelago. It is located in Southeast Asia which is part of a largest continent. The Philippines has given a plenty of natural resources. And so, it is the reason why other countries went here. They found out that this country have a lot of spices for food. But instead of getting only a spices they also did to colonized us. It was first to happen when Magellan accidentally discovered this island ( the Philippines) during his expedition. He was sent by the king Charles I of Spain. For their purposed to  search a spice island. The European countries admired the wonders of the orient, so that they exploring and trading with Asian countries of the spices and other products.
The discovery of Spain in the Philippines was the beginning of the colonization. When the Spaniards came they found Filipinos with a different culture that was different from theirs. In terms of clothing, religious beliefs, education, economic life, the government, language and a lot more. The coming of Spaniards influenced the way of life of the Philippines. The Filipinos  learned and adapted so many things. For instance, most of our language today was from them, and also they converted us into Christianity, and added to the culture that was improved. But their staying here was not been getting better. It lasted for numerous years. They colonized us and treated as slave. So that many Filipinos did not allow to continue their reigning.
During the Spanish colonization the Filipinos had established organizations to fight the Spaniards. Some movements who tried to stop the colonization of the Spaniards failed because they have not enough people and money to fight with them. The Spaniards were very powerful, therefore they were not easily destroyed.
Many Filipinos died, especially the three martyr fathers. Because of it the Filipinos had been more aggressive to have a battle for our freedom. They were united in a different organizations. It led with the Filipino heroes who we are recognizing  until now. Like Andres Bonifacio who used their physical strength to fight the Spaniards. Some heroes used their intelligent in writings with a bravery meaning against the Spaniards like  Jose Rizal who did it . Because of them they arouse the mind of the Filipino people to fight for freedom. Filipino heroes was the reason why we are  now an independent country. A democratic country that we already experiencing. So that we should not forget our Filipino heroes. They taught us to be brave and patriotism. We should not let foreigners to control us in our own land..and also love our country..
